Carolynann Smith

Biography: Carolynann Smith, 78 of Bucyrus passed away on Thursday April 21, 2022 at Galion Avita Hospital.  Carolyn was born December 17, 1943 in Marion to the late C. Frederick Burry and Anna Jane (Winters) Hawk.  She was married September 23, 1984 to Gilbert A. Smith who preceded her in death on February 9, 1993. 
Carolyn is survived by daughters Tami (Dan) Risner of Findlay, Dawn Black of Crestline, and Kristopher (Wendy) Holdcraft of Huron, OH; grandchildren Brittany,  Grant, Katlynn, Katie, Jeremy,  Josh, Kyle, Michael,  Olivia, and Shelby; as well as 21 great grandchildren. 
  Carolyn was a graduate of Bucyrus High School in 1960 and was a homemaker.  She was an active member of the community and formerly a member of the Bucyrus Church of God, where she donated many hours to the church, events, weddings, and fund raising.  She was a most recent member of the Bucyrus United Methodist Church.  Carolyn was the Director of the Bucyrus Santa Parade for many years and celebrated the Bucyrus proclaimed Carolyn Ann Smith Day on her 70th birthday 12/17/2013. She was formerly a member of the Lucky 40 C.B. Club and was a girl scout and brownie leader.  Carolyn was always there to offer a helping hand and a kind word to those in need.  She provided wedding planning, and floral designs to many couples over the years and enjoyed Lake Erie skiing, camping, crafts, and sewing. 
 Graveside services will be held on Wednesday April 27, 2022 in the Caledonia Cemetery at 1:00 pm.  Following services, the family will hold a Celebration of Life gathering for family and friends at the Bucyrus United Methodist Administrative Building & Outreach Center at 216 Hopley Bucyrus.The Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.  Memorial Contributions may be made through the funeral home
