Biography: Bonna J. (Atwood) Stevenson, age 82, of Bucyrus, Ohio passed away October 13, 2015 after a lengthy illness under the caring hands of Heartland of Bucyrus.
Bonna was born in Bowling Green, Ohio April 10, 1933 to the late Rev. Herbert and Almedah Stimmel. She is preceded in death by first husband Herbert W. Atwood Sr. in 1968 and second husband Howard Stevenson in 2003; brothers, Ray, Lester, and Burton Stimmel; sister Betty Sidle; and nephew James Stimmel.
Survived by children, Diana (Ed) Kincade , Herbert W. Atwood Jr., Michael (Mary) Atwood, and Thomas (Jennifer) Atwood all of Bucyrus; three step children; grandchildren, Jason Galitza, Kylie Kincade, Lindsey Atwood, Ashley Atwood, Mercedes Atwood, Michael Atwood, Matthew Atwood, Haley Atwood, Neil Atwood; great-grandchildren, Ethan and Owen Cox, Ben and Vada Atwood, Gracie Ortega, Lincoln Kirby, Mariah Blankenship, Nicholas Stuckert; brother-in-law, Elbert Sidle of Plain City, OH; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A member of Kaler Avenue Church of Christ in Christian Union, she was a former President of Bucyrus Ladies of the Elks and also of the Bucyrus Jaycettes. Bonna was a graduate of Central High school, Columbus, Ohio (1951) and attended Capital University in Columbus, Ohio. She retired in 1996 from the accounting department of Bucyrus Community Hospital. Prior to that she had worked for the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles as a field representative and was at one time employed by George Boyd, C.P.A. in Bucyrus. She was also an avid fan of Buckeyes Basketball and Football.
Friends will be received by the family from 12-1 pm Saturday Oct 17, at the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home. Funeral services will be immediately following the visitation at 1 pm. with Pastor George Lore officiating, burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
