Betty J. Evans

Biography:  Betty J. Evans, 74, of Bucyrus died on Friday April 25, 2014 at Altercare of Bucyrus.  Betty was born May 12, 1939 in Bucyrus to the late Robert and C. Jewell (Grogan) Rittenberry.  She was married for over 55 years to Virgil “Tackett” Evans who preceded her in death on Nov. 30, 2013.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by son Michael Allen Evans; sisters Christine Shope, Freda Meade; and Charlene Shope, as well as brothers  Clarence and Walter Rittenberry.
 
Betty is survived by son and daughter in law David and Jackie Evans; daughter Rebecca Evans; son Virgil Eugene Evans; 8 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; brother Gertis Rittenberry of Bucyrus; and sisters Shirley Witten, of Nevada and Debbie Thoroughman of KY.
 
Betty lived her life in Bucyrus and was a homemaker.
 
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday at 1:00 pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Pastor Jack Sallee officiating, burial will follow in Crawford County Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 11:00 am until the time of service.  Expressions of sympathy may be made at munzpirnstill.com
