Biography: Beatrice V. Blevins, 93 of Bucyrus passed away at 1:30 am Sunday in Heartland of Bucyrus. Beatrice was born April 16, 1920 in Chilhowie, VA to the late Conley and Myrtle (Martin) Rowland. She was married Nov. 25, 1939 to Moody Blevins who preceded her in death Nov. 8, 1988. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by grandson Philip Smith; brothers Waldo, Bill, Conley, and Paul Rowland; and sisters and their husbands, Pat (Bernie) Weithman, Maxine (Marvin) Blankenbecker, Eilizabeth “Tommie” (Bill) Musser, Peggy (Roger) Freshwater; sister Ima Jean Rowland, and brother in law Bill Hoffman.
Beatrice is survived by daughters Glenna (Larry) Cass, Galion and Mary (David) Young of Naples, FL; 5 grandchildren, Tracy (Doug) Cleland, Tiro; Jay Cass, Galion; Gary (Tina) Cass, Galion; Terry Smith, Mansfield, and Jill Hartshorn of Delaware,; 9 great grandchildren; sisters Wilma Hoffman of Mansfield and Belle (Charles) White of Naples, FL; sister in laws Florice Rowland of Crestline, Maxine Rowland of N. Carolina and Barbara Rowland of Alabama; Krista, Three step grandchildren Krista, Jeff, and Brent as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Beatrice graduated from Riverside H.S. in Chilhowie, VA, moved to Bucyrus in 1948 and was a member of the First Baptist Church. She retired from Swan Rubber and following retirement delivered meals on wheels. Beatrice enjoyed her grandchildren, being with family, playing cards with her friends, playing bingo, and her church family.
The family will receive friends at the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5-7 pm. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 pm in Crawford County Memory Gardens with Rev.
