Biography: Barbara J. Stiner, 87 of Bucyrus passed away on Wednesday Jan. 14, 2015 at Heartland of Bucyrus, she had been in failing health. Barbara was born Sept. 5, 1927 in Galion to the late Thomas and Eleanor (Helcher) Britt. She was married Sept. 13, 1947 to John “Dick” Stiner who preceded her in death on Oct. 22, 1993. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by step mother Bernice Britt, who raised her since she was 4 yrs. old, and two brothers Gary and Dick Britt.
Barbara is survived by children Monica (Edwin) Pollock, Bucyrus; Janice (Roger) Heydinger, Houston, OH; Paula King, Upper Sandusky; Steve Stiner, Bucyrus; Jim (Sandy) Stiner, Shiloh; and Dianna (Mark) Leuthold of Oxford, OH; 19 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; brother Michael Britt and sister Mary L. McPeek both of Galion.
Barbara was a homemaker and lived in Oceola for many years until moving to Florida for 20 years, she moved back to Bucyrus in 2001. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and attended the Transformation of Lord Catholic Church in Upper Sandusky for many years.
A Memorial Mass will be Celebrated on Saturday Jan. 31, 2015, 11:00 am in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galion with Father John Miller as Celebrant, burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Church activity center across from the church one hour prior to the Mass.
