Arlo J. Brown

Biography:  Arlo J. Brown, 87, of Bucyrus passed away on Friday March 27, 2015 at Bucyrus Community Hospital, his death was unexpected.  Arlo was born March 3, 1928 in Tiro, OH to the late Ralph Clemence and Flora Ella (Welty) Brown.  He was married Sept. 30, 1956 to Carol Jean (Wagner) Brown who preceded him in death on Feb. 7, 2012.  Arlo was also preceded in death by brother, John C. Brown and brother in law Earl Smith.
 
Arlo is survived by son Gary (Karen) Brown, Millersburg, OH; daughter Lori (Denny) Mutchler, Bucyrus; grandchildren Erin (Brian), Kelsie, Jennifer (Cody), Tawny, Connor, Josh (Kary), MaKenzie, Gabriel, Kaleb and Katelyn; great grandson Gabriel, and twin sister Arlene Smith of Tiro and Gladys Brown of Bucyrus.
 
Arlo lived his entire life in this area and graduated from North Robinson High School in 1946 and Ohio State University in 1951 with a BS degree in Agricultural Engineering.  Arlo served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 until 1955 on the USS Merrick and was a member of the American Legion Post 181.  He retired from the Timken Co. in 1990 after 30 years. For several years Arlo drove the bus for Headstart and more recently for many area schools. He was a member of the Kirkpatrick Church of Christ for over 40 years and more recently was a member of the Bucyrus Church of the Nazarene. 
 
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am in the First Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Ray LaSalle officiating, burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm.  The family suggests memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation or the Bucyrus Nazarene Church and expressions of sympathy can be left at munzpirnstill.com
