Biography: Alvin Thomas, 70, of Bucyrus passed away on Thursday June 4, 2015 at Heartland of Bucyrus following an extended illness. Alvin was born Sept. 30, 1944 in Bucyrus to the late Ralph R. and Mary (Staats) Thomas. He was also preceded in death by grandchild Victoria Hope Justice, brothers Ivan and Glen Thomas, and son in law Ron Thomas.
Alvin is survived by children Tamila (Sharon Eaton) Thomas of Galion; Jody (Christina) Thomas of Galion; Mary (Keith) Meadows of Mt. Gilead; Krista Thomas of Iberia; Timothy (Christine Smith) Justice of Crestline; Harry Baldwin of Galion; 12 grandchildren Ronnie, Rylee, Ryland Thomas; Cassandra Sayre; Kendra Weaver; Luke Vossers; Odyssey Patton; Ma’Kaye”lynn, Timbrie, Cadence, Curtis, and Isaac Justice; 5 great grandchildren Preston, Noah, Xander, Zayne, Zolan; brothers Sonny, Michael, and Daniel Thomas all of Bucyrus; Steven of West Virginia; Marvin of Galion; sisters Linda Smith of Bucyrus; Elaine Kauffman of Fredericktown; Darlene Dummitt, Waneta Judy, Ruby Mathews, and Tina Burton all of Bucyrus; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Alvin was a self employed mechanic and lived in the Bucyrus and Iberia areas most of his life.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 1:00 pm in the New Day Ministries Church with Bishop Ted Thomas officiating, burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00-4:00 pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home and on Monday from 11:00 am until the time of service, at the church.
