Sherman J. Dyer 74 of rural Bucyrus died Thursday morning at his home. He had been in ill health since July. He was born December 16, 1935 in Lewis County Kentucky to Wince A and Leathie J (Bond) Dyer, both deceased. Also preceding him in death are 5 Brothers and Sisters. On March 16, 1957 he married Hester Marie Ash who survives.
Also surviving are children Cindy (William) Saunders of Marion, Avery (Amy) Dyer of Mt. Vernon, Cameron Dyer (Marge Hurst) of DeGraff OH, and Chris (Gina) Dyer of Rushylvania OH, 15 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren, Brothers Toby (Karen) Dyer , and Johnny (Cindy) Dyer both of Bucyrus, Sisters Lilly (Clyde) Bloomfield of New Winchester, Rosemary (Dan) Webb of Olive Hill KY, Minnie Zornes of Hillsboro KY, Shirley (Jack) Montgomery of Atlanta GA, Carol (Dave) Skaggs, and Desi Moore both of Galion, and Kathy (Tom) Moore of Sulphur Springs.
Sherman was self employed, had driven trucks, did construction work, and was a mechanic. He was a Veteran of the U S Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict, and attended the Church of Christ in Christian Union. He was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and 4-wheeling.
Friends may call Saturday morning from 11 am at the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home where services will be held at 1 PM. Officiating will be Pastor Bob Jividen, and burial will follow in Oceola Cemetery. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Hospice.
