"Ike" Thacker </strong>formerly of New Washington <img src="thacker2.jpg" width="139" height="182" border="1" align="left">and Warner Robins, Ga. passed away August 27, 2009 at the home of her son in Arnaudville, La. <br> She was born in New Washington on March 4, 1930 to the late Oscar J. and Iva M. (Vorndran) Kessler. She married Ralph E. Thacker on February 25, 1949 and he preceded her in death. In addition, she is preceded in death by a son Dennis Thacker and grandson Matthew. <br> <br> Ike was a 1948 graduate of New Washington High School and lived in the New Washington area until the death of her husband in 1979, working at the C.E. White Company for 15 years. She moved to Georgia and worked 2 years on the Robins AFB then went to Texas and worked at Reese AFB for 4 years until her retirement in 1987. Ruth returned to Warner Robins and enjoyed her grandchildren, reading, fishing and could be found watching her hummingbird, wrestling and Braves baseball. <br> <br> She is survived by two daughters; Jenny (Bill) Musselman and Debi Rex of Bucyrus, son Ted (Rona) Thacker of Lousiana, fourteen grandchildren; Toni (Al) Johnson, Pete (Melanie) Thacker, Myke (Crystal) Thacker, Vickie Musselman, Amanda (Herbert) Poland, Joe (Amanda) Rex, Ricci (Andy) Durham, Josh Rex, Chuck (April) Thacker, Randall (Chari) Reitz, Brian (Lindsay) Thacker, Tara (Nick) Giles, Kaylim (Shelly) Milyak, Dillon Milyak, 22 great grandchildren, a brother Robert (Geraldine) Kessler, sisters Jean (Mel) Evenden, Rebecca (Fred) Nitz and Yvonne Ramage and many nieces and nephews. Ruth also leaves special friends Mamet and Rabia Cekil in Warner Robins. <br> <br> The family will receive friends Friday from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home, Bucyrus, Ohio. A memorial service will be held Saturday Sept. 5, 2009 at 12 noonin the New Day Ministries, 212 N. Walnut St. Bucyrus with Pastor Mike Williams officiating. Burial will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery, New Washington. Memorial Contributions may be to the donor's choice.
