John Leslie Myers, age 64, died at home Sunday September 27, 2009. His death was sudden and unexpected.

He was born October 24, 1944 in Carey, OH to the late Donald J. and Marguriete L. (Reynolds) Myers. He attended Mt. Zion Grade School and Holy Trinity School, and graduated from Bucyrus Senior High School in 1963. He then attended and graduated from Mansfield Technical College with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. On June 22, 1968 he married his best friend and soul mate, Patricia Ellen Kennedy at St. Johns UCC in Bucyrus.

John is survived and missed by his wife Patricia, their son Kevin and his wife Angela Myers and their children Andrea, Brittaney, Hannah, Caden, Jared, Gavin, and Mary; their daughter Dawn and her husband John Fletcher and their children Misty, Michael, Jonathan, Nicole, Branden, Sean, Kristen, and Somer; and 4 great-grand children. John is also survived by Sister Mary Reynolds of Carey, Sister Della (David) Heid of Bucyrus, and Brother Mike (Carol) Myers of Bucyrus. John was preceded in death by his parents and by Brother Donovan Myers of Grand Rapids, MI.

He retired from the Crawford County Engineers Office after 30 years as a civil engineer. Following retirement John was employed by Farmers Citizens Bank in Bucyrus as a courier. He was a member of St. John's UCC where he served many years as a deacon and elder. He was a member of Bucyrus Moose Lodge #669 where he served on the board for many years. He was also an active member of the Crawford County P.E.R.I., and was a Lifetime Member of the Bucyrus Jaycees. John enjoyed nothing more in life than spending time with his wife and grand children. He will be missed dearly.

Memorial Services will be at 12:00 pm Thursday October 1, 2009 at St. Johns UCC 120 S. Lane St. in Bucyrus with the Rev. Steve Voelker officiating. The family will receive friends and relatives one hour prior to the service. A memorial service by the Bucyrus Moose Lodge #669 will be held at the beginning of the service. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Bucyrus. Contributions may be made to the organization of donor's choice through Munz-Pinstill Funeral Home.
