Helen Compton, 81, of Delaware died Tuesday Dec. 8, 2009 at her home surrounded by her children and family.
Born July 25, 1928 in Aflex, KY, she was the daughter of the late Everett and Pauline (Aliff) Thompson.
Helen married Carl Compton on Nov. 10, 1944. In 1955 with five children the Comptons moved to Ohio. Helen was a long time employee of Bun's Restaurant in Delaware retiring in 1981.

She is survived by 11 children; sons Everett Compton, Bobby (Nancy) Compton, Danny (Margaret) Compton James Compton, daughters Ann Browning, Cheryl (Floyd) Trent, Deborah (Vernon) Fisher, Wanda Markis, Brenda Merrow, Barbara Compton, Sheila (Dennis) Marsh, 22 Grandchildren, many Great Grandchildren, a brother Everett Thompson, and two sisters Lucille Blackburn and Bonnie Johnson.

Helen is preceded in death by her husband Carl and a daughter Catherine Hay.
Funeral service will be Saturday Dec. 12, 2009 at 9AM in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home 215 N. Walnut St. Bucyrus with Rev. David Schalk officiating. Calling hours will start on Saturday one hour prior to the service. Graveside service will be Saturday at 11AM in Oakgrove Cemetery, Delaware. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the funeral home.
