Gail (Emerson) Grasley, 91, formerly of Southland Drive, Bucyrus, died early Sunday morning, July 18, 2010, in Altercare of Bucyrus where she had resided for the past five years.

She was born July 27, 1918, in Detroit, and was the daughter of the late Thomas and Minnie (Hackworth) Woodall. On Feb. 8, 1936, she married Frank Emerson and he preceded her in death on Dec. 27, 1966. Gail married Harold Grasley on Oct. 18, 1969, and he

preceded her in death Feb. 15, 1985. She is preceded in death by a son, Tom Emerson, and a granddaughter, Lucinda Hord. She was the last survivor of seven siblings, being preceded in death by two brothers, Buddy and Herman Woodall, and four sisters; Myrtle Hogan, Margaret Hodges, Ethel Roach and Eleanor Moore, all of Lynchburg, Va.

Gail is survived by three children: son Ken Emerson and wife Dorothy of Bucyrus, son Richard Emerson and wife Linda of Columbia, Mo., daughter Mary Jane Hord and friend John Clayton of Bucyrus; 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren.

She grew up in Lynchburg where she attended E.C. Glass High School and moved to the Bucyrus area in the early 1950s. Gail retired from Timken after 26 years, attended the Gospel Baptist Church, Galion, enjoyed crafts and for the past several years enjoyed the many activities at Altercare.

Funeral services will be at noon Wednesday July 21, 2010, in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Pastor Monty Trammel officiating. Calling hours will start at 10 a.m. Wednesday two hours prior to the funeral. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Bucyrus.
