Glenn William Brause September 26, 1920 - December 17, 2009
Glenn W. Brause passed away Thursday December 17 peacefully in his sleep at Carlisle House in Bucyrus OH of congestive heart failure. He was preceded in death by his parents, Esther Kibler and William Brause, Sisters Beatrice Karg, Winifred Boyer, Geraldine Johnston, and Brother Ralph Brause. Glenn leaves behind his Wife of 67 years, Mildred J. Johnson, Children Richard Tim Brause and Dianne Gloria Brause, Grandson Nathan Kuakoa Brause, three Great Grandchildren Alexander, Andrew, and Allison, and Brother Wayne Brause of Bucyrus.
Glenn was born September 26, 1920 in Lykens Ohio and moved to Sulphur Springs, where he graduated from High School in 1938, and has lived ever since on his farm at 4565 Ziegler Road. He was an award winning Ohio Farmer as a young man and later a celebrated Tree Farmer through the Walnut Council. Glenn built his home from wood harvested from his own woods, and sandstone which he cut piece by piece for the exterior.
He attended St Paul Lutheran Church where he served on the Church Council, was a Board Member at Sulphur Springs School and an award winning mutual funds salesman.After he "retired", he became devoted to his " Tree Farm". He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, and playing board games with the Great Grandchildren.
Glenn will be missed by family and friends. He will be cremated and an informal Memorial gathering will be announced in the near future. In July, his ashes will be scattered at the pond with family members attending.
