Franklin "Frank" W. Kent, 88, formerly of 4465 St. Rt. 98 died Wednesday morning July 8, 2009 at the Inn at Orchard Park where he has resided for the past year and a half. Born Jan. 4, 1921 in Bucyrus, he was the son of the late Martin and Mary (Mollencopf) Kent. Frank was also preceded in death by a brother Archie and wife Artice Kent, a brother-in-law William Miller and nephew Steven Miller. Frank is survived by his wife of nearly sixty years Ellen (Messer) Kent, two daughters Linda (Dan) Rowles and Kathy Edwards all of Bucyrus, 5 beloved grandchildren; Megan & Zachary Edwards, Renee Rowles, Krista Baker, Jessica Baker, 6 Great Grandchildren; Hayden, Ella, Brittany, Zachary, Corey and Hayley, a sister Mildred Miller of Bucyrus, a niece Jennifer Boyle, four nephews; Chuck, Mike and David Kent and Bill Miller. He attended Mt. Zion school and went to work early to support the family when Archie went to war. Frank worked at Swan Rubber Co. for fourty-five years retiring in 1986 and worked at the Ohio Dept. of Human Services retiring in 1994. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Sulphur Springs and enjoyed gardening, working in his lawn and working on houses. Frank built three homes, renovated a farm house and took great satisfaction from lending a hand to those he thought needed it whether it be a stranger or family. Calling hours will be Friday from 5 to 8pm at the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home where services will be Saturday July 11, 2009 at 11AM with Pastor Ann Hunter officiating.
