Elwood Cox, 83 yrs. of age, of 3046 Arn Circle Dr., Bucyrus died on Friday morning at Riverside Hospital, Columbus. Elwood was born Oct. 10, 1926 in Bucyrus to the late Gerald W. and Elsie (Hancock) Cox. He was married Dec. 14, 1946 to Martha L. (Horton) Cox who survives.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Cox is survived by children Tim Cox; Bonnie Cox Coone; and Cathy (Timothy) Baird of Bucyrus; 4 grandchildren Michael, Michelle, Jerry, and Mandy; Elwood had 13 siblings, Garner, Dorothy, Gearldine, Omar, Donald, Betty, Harry, Marge, Charles, Barbara, Lodena, Virginia, and Gerald Jr., those surviving are Betty (Elvin) Shade, Bucyrus; Virginia (Bob) Goin, Bucyrus; Lodena (Ken) Glover, South Carolina; and Barbara McDonald of Bucyrus.

Mr. Cox retired from Timken Roller Bearing in 1982. He lived his entire life in Bucyrus and enjoyed golfing, bowling, pingpong, and card playing. Elwood was a veteran of the U.S. Navy entering in 1944 at Great Lakes for Boot Camp where he was assigned to be shipped out on the Coast Guard Ship, General M.C. Meiggs for Brazil. He was a longtime member of the American Legion Post 181 and VFW 1078.
