Evelyn retired from J.C. Penney in Galion and had also worked at Newberry's in Bucyrus. She was also employed as a secretary at Whetstone Schools and sold House of Stewart Products. Evelyn lived most of her life in New Winchester and was a graduate of Whetstone H.S. in 1934. She was proud to have participated on the 1930-31 girls basketball team, which were the county champions. Evelyn was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and the Christian Endeavor of New Winchester United Brethren Church. When Evelyn's children were in school she was very active with the PTA. Evelyn loved flowers, music, and her family. She had great pride in her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-nieces and nephews. Evelyn tremendously enjoyed a host of friends and had commented during this last illness, “I've had a long life and lots of friends,” which gave her comfort. She loved a good laugh and had a great sense of humor. Funeral services will be held on Monday July 12, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Pastor Marcellus de Oliveira officiating; burial will be in Sixteen Cemetery.
