Donald "Dale" Sherman, 73, of 247 Ethel St. Bucyrus died early Friday morning February 5, 2010 at his residence. He had been in declining health for the past three years.

Born in Galion on July 14, 1936, he was the son of the late Clarence and Florence (Heffelfinger) Sherman.
Dale is survived by his wife of 54 years Eleanor Rostash whom he married on September 10, 1955. He is also survived by son Richard Vaughn, daughters; Vickie (Mark) Lloyd, Kimberly Kalb all of Bucyrus, Dawn Sherman of Cincinnati, 5 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren, brother Paul (Betty) Sherman and 2 cats Puffy and Muffin.
Dale is preceded in death by a sister Elaine Smith and two brothers William and Phillip Sherman.

He attended school in Iberia and later at DeVry and ITT. Dale worked locally as a TV repairman, but retired after many years in 1985 as a general foreman for the Marion Power Shovel (Dresser). He was a member of Good Hope Lutheran Church. Dale enjoyed home improvements, fishing, hunting, sports, especially Ohio State and spending time with family and grandchildren.

Calling hours will be Monday from 5 to 8pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home where services will be Tuesday February 9, 2010 at 10:30AM with Pastor David Bliss officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Bucyrus. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Red Cross for the relief effort in Haiti or the donor's choice in care of the funeral home.
