| Dorothy Candel, age 92, of 501 Martin Ave. Bucyrus died early Friday morning in Bucyrus Community Hospital. She was born on Nov. 25, 1916 in Ontario, Oh to the late Martin and Ada (Rumbaugh) Shifferly. She was married Aug. 23, 1935 to Lloyd H. Candel who preceded her in death on Sept. 19, 1991. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by sister Maxine Heiby, and two brothers Charles and Max Shifferly. Mrs. Candel is survived by one daughter Carole Eppley and son in law Don of Bucyrus; grandchildren Kimberly Light and husband Keith, Kristine Strauch, both of Bucyrus; David Eppley and wife Sue of Gibsonia, PA; six great grandchildren, Aaron, Brian, and Christin Light; Lauren Strauch and Laura and David Eppley, Jr.; and one sister Betty Roberts of Lexington, OH. Dorothy graduated from Ontario High School and after marriage lived all of her life in Bucyrus. She was a member of Good Hope Lutheran Church and the Bucyrus Country Club. She worked many years with her husband at Candels Restaurant and also at Baumoels. Mrs. Candel enjoyed golfing, traveling, and most of all-her family. No calling hours will be observed and private graveside services will be held at a later date.
