Carl L R Jacobs, 79 of New Washington died at home Saturday night following a 2 year battle with Cancer. He was born December 25, 1929 in Tiro to Blain P and Pearl (Feik) Jacobs both deceased. Also preceding him in death ware Daughter Penny Lynn Jacobs, Great Grand sons Martin K Vanek Jr , Nicholas Z Vanek, and Brother Lowell.

On August 11, 1950 he married Barbara Jean Schimpf who survives along with Daughter Linda (John) Meyer of Willoughby OH, Grandchildren Tracey (Martin) Vanek of Tiro, Jennifer and Ashley Meyer both of Willoughby OH, and Great Grandchildren Brandi Lynn and Zachary M Vanek.

Carl graduated from Buckeye Central High school Class of 1947 and attended College Hill Church. He was a U S Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict, and had worked at Mansfield Brass Company in New washington over 40 years. Memberships included Bucyrus Moose Lodge 669, American Legion Post 405 New Washington, and the Bucyrus VFW Post 8999, and he enjoyed fishing, bingo, and especially his Grand Children.

At his request, he is to be cremated. There is no visition or services. His cremains will be burid in College Hill Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made through Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home to College Hill Church. Expressions of Sympathy may be left at munzpirnstill.com.
