Bruce Patrick, 80 years of age, of 916 E. Warren St. Bucyrus passed away early Saturday morning at Riverside Hospital in Columbus following a sudden illness. Bruce was born December 9, 1929 in Seitz , Ky to the late Brice and Dora (Craft) Patrick. He was married June 3, 1981 to Rayetta (Nickler) Patrick who survives. In addition to his parents he was proceeded in death by one granddaughter, step son Robert Mllins,3 brothers Asbury, Floyd and Dean, 3 sisters Ethel, Nevauda Craft and Nellie Breymaier.
In addition to wife Rayetta, Bruce is survived by daughters Wanda (Mark) Etchason, Clinton, IL; Peggy Rickard, Lewiston, NY; Dorothy (Edward) Treft, Attica, OH; step children Sandra Combs; John Mullins, and Kathy (James) Gibson all of Bucyrus; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren; brother Menifee (Bea) Patrick, Fritz KY; Sisters Maudie Hensley, Argos, Ind; Rossie Trusty, Wheel Rim, Ky, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Patrick moved to Bucyrus in 1949 and retired from Swan Rubber after 46 years. He was active in the Swan Credit and Labor Unions, a member of the NRA, and an avid gardener, hunter and fisherman. After graduation Bruce taught school for a short amount of time. He had a passion for History and learning new things on a daily basis. Spending time with his family and friends near by and in Kentucky was his greatest enjoyment.
Friends may call at the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home on Tuesday where the family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8PM. Calling hours will begin on Wednesday at 5:00PM in the Church of God of Fritz KY and will continue through Thursday. Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 11:00am in the church with Rev. Dallas Patrick, nephew of Bruce, officiating, burial will follow in Patrick Cemetery .
